One Night Get Away

On the Friday that VBS ended, Elijah and I had our "one night get away". This was another thing on our summer bucket list. I made us a reservation at the Marriott in Sugar Land. Elijah and I were totally surprised when we checked in to be told that we were their VIP Guests. This was beyond cool!!

The Guy's Get-a-Way

Friday afternoon Byron and Elijah left for their official Guy's Get-a-Way. They had reservations to stay at the Hilton America for the night.

I knew they would have fun and create wonderful memories - And they did. Another summer bucket item accomplished.

Someone was ready to go

Elijah is one of those kids that really likes  hotel rooms! If he had his way he would just hang out in the room whole the whole time.
We are not sure where this comes from

When they got back from their exploring, they went to the pool for about an hour. Then back to the room to hang out. I got a text message from Byron just a little after 10:00 saying that Elijah had finally gone to sleep. Byron had one little excited and happy boy with him.

Breakfast with Daddy - Which turned into a bacon eating contest
Elijah won & as Byron would say, "That's my boy"... Byron really likes bacon.

Received this picture from Byron at 12:45 and as you can see Elijah is still going strong and being silly.

*I really do appreciate Byron taking all of these pictures for me so I could document this for Elijah. I am also very appreciative of having 24 hours to myself! :) I miss my guys but it has been very nice!

Manicure- Pedicure, Really?!

Let me begin by saying, Byron isn't going to be happy about this post. Even though he already knows about it. Hehe!

After returning from our vacation, I really needed to get a mani/pedi. I usually don't take Elijah with me but it's the summer, so I had no other choice. So Elijah sat there and watched what they did to me and just before I was done, he asked could he get a mani/pedi too. I was shocked! But the way I look at it is, he is already wise enough, at this young age, to know that it is relaxing and that there is no shame in guy having it done as well. You go Elijah!

He really enjoyed it! He said it felt so good and he was so proud of how nice his hands and feet looked. It was such a fun time.

This is the color Elijah picked out for me

Heading Home - Pensacola Stop

We decided to go home via Pensacola so that we could see Byron's brother and sister-in law (Blake and Michele). They were in Pensacola because that is where Michele's parents live.

Once we got there, Uncle Blake and Aunt Michele meet us at the Naval Museum. It was a very nice museum, but Elijah was too tired to enjoy it. We hope to go back again so we can truly explore it all.

After the museum, we went to the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier. We were glad that Elijah got to experience and see two completely different beaches on this vacation. He said the sand at Pensacola looked like flour you cook with. :)

After the pier we went and had dinner. By that time, all 3 of us were worn out. So we headed back to the house and went to bed because we knew we had an early start the next day for our drive home. It was another wonderful vacation!
