Father's Day

Father's Day started off with Elijah and I bringing Byron coffee in bed and giving him our gifts & cards. Elijah painted at coffee mug for Byron (at the Glazary) and I made a book that included pictures of only Elijah and him. Both gifts were a hit :)

After attending church on Father's Day, we went to Papasitos for Byron's Father's Day lunch. Glad we got there early because it was busy!

Before I could get my camera out, Elijah had already hit the pinata and busted it...on his first try!

Still wanted to hit it more, even though it was busted :)

On the way home we went by HEB to pick up some things for a special Father's Day dinner. When we were leaving Elijah got instant winner with his Buddy Bucks. He has been wanting to get this for so long.

After arriving home, we all rested some and then went to the pool for a couple of hours. Later that night we had a yummy dinner. All and all, it was a nice Father's Day.

What has Elijah Been Up to Lately?

He has been...

Earning rocks for his jar

We are adding more rewards to the list as we go
He has a line to reach for his 1st "small" reward; then to the top for the 2nd reward

Attending Young Chef's Academy  (Day 1)

Day 2

Day 3
He had a blast!
He wants to go again next year & attend more than just one session.

His recipe book
It includes all the recipes he made at camp & now we can make them together

Doing art work

and cooking.

I have had Elijah make his dinner a couple of nights already this summer since he enjoys cooking. My role is to be his assistant and make sure he is safe. :-)
It has been a lot of fun & he takes great pride in what he cooks.

A Special Lunch Date

Thursday, my long time friend, Katherine, came over to have lunch with Elijah and me. Katherine and I became friends when I taught one of her daughters, Victoria, in first grade. (Victoria just completed her freshman year at college)

Elijah wanted to use our china & stemware and make it a "fancy" lunch. He insisted we eat in the dining room to. He also helped me set the table and he cut & arranged the flowers all by himself. I can already tell our son likes to entertain and at the same time, his is still all boy!! :)

This is the way Elijah wanted to set the table

The flowers he picked out at HEB, cut, and arranged for the table

Time for some coloring and drawing
They had the best time

Katherine was so thoughtful and brought Elijah a present. It was a really neat Eye Find book. He showed it to his Daddy as soon as Byron got home from work. I have to say, Elijah did very well for our special lunch date.

Two Pictures

 Elijah and his Tball trophy

Guess our son is growing up... He got an application for a credit card... Really!

Boys Day at the Zoo

Last Friday, my boys headed to the zoo for "Daddy and Elijah time". Byron said that is wasn't crowded, but it was hot! But they didn't let that stop them from having fun.

There was a really neat Lego display going on at the zoo

 Lego birds

 Lego giraffe

 What a face!

Elijah took this picture of Byron

As Byron and Elijah were making their way to ride the train and then head home, who did they run into? Three of Elijah's buddies from his class. Byron said that all the boy's faces were priceless when they saw each other.
What happened then? Another hour & a half of fun before they finally headed home :)
