Working on Lights ...Again & Again

Well, we have been through 2 obsessions/fixations with Elijah. First being ceiling fans then lawn mowers/cutting grass. Now his new thing? Christmas lights! Not just looking at them, no, that would be too easy. Instead, he wants to decorate and move them around constantly. So we bought him several strands of his own lights and let him do whatever he wanted to do. Oh course, we make sure that the power is off when he was working. :)

His play set (aka his fort) is just one of the many places he added lights.

Oh course after all of that hard work, it was time for a dinner break

Puddle Fun

After the big rain we had on Sunday, we had water standing in our yard (this was the first time this is ever happened) so Elijah went out to have some fun.

Dancing Machine

The other night some spontaneous dancing took place :) Love moments like this!

The Things a Daddy Does

Elijah likes everything about the Christmas season, but this year his favorite are the lights. So he asked his Daddy would he please put lights on his play set (also referred to, by Elijah, as his play fort). Byron's response to Elijah was "we'll see". Well, after returning doing errands, what does Byron return home with? Lights for Elijah's play set. :) Elijah was beyond excited. Thanks Daddy!

Gingerbread House

This year we decided to let Elijah decorate his gingerbread house all by himself. (Confession... It was very hard for me not to help him) It turned out cute, but apparently Elijah prefers minimal decorations on his gingerbread house. :)

What Has Jingle Bells Been Up To?

 Building with Lego's

 Playing with toilet paper

Hanging out with Elijah's stuffed animals

And baking

This year Jingle Bells starts off in one place but moves to another spot as the day goes on. :)

The Arrival of Jingle Bells

This is Jingle Bell's second year to be a part of our family's Christmas festivities. He arrived Saturday morning, December 1st. He showed up with snow covered donuts and hot chocolate for Elijah and him. And this year, he even had a note for Elijah.

First day of our Advent calendar - Elijah got a piece of chocolate and his activity was to write a note to Santa. We only have an Advent activity every other day. I find it makes the calendar more exciting and ensures we have the time to get the activity done.

After the calendar, Elijah turned around to find Jingle Bells.

Let all the fun with Jingle Bells begin!
