Happy and Having Fun

Oh course at 3 years 2 months, Elijah definitely has his moments :) But we are so thankful that most of the time though, he is a happy kid and seems to have fun at whatever he is doing. Like...

Laying in mommy and daddy bed while playing with his camera

 Helping vacuum

 Swinging at the park

 Playing in the sand

Making  a welcome home sign for his Daddy

          Roasting  marshmallows

Having a picnic with his friend, Evie, and watching The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Just a swinging at Hayes birthday party

Snow Fest

On Saturday we took Elijah to Sienna's Snow Fest. The weather was the pits, warm and drizzly , but that didn't stop Elijah or the other kids from having fun.
Yes, the mitten were way too big form him, but ...

Now that is a big snowball!

Our Little Guppy

Last Monday, January 16, Elijah started swim lessons at Houston Swim Club. The first day he shed a lot of tears and it was very emotional for me as well.  Then on day two, the tears were still present  but significantly less.  But day three was incredible!! Elijah didn't cry at all and had fun. The remainder of the week was a huge success as well. His teacher, Ms. Sami, is so great with the kids and I am very impressed with what she has already taught them in the first week. Elijah starts his second week of lessons today (Monday) and it should be interesting to see how it goes since he has a little break.

The pictures below were taken his first day. I wasn't able to get many because of the tinted two- way glass but at least I did get two. His group is called "Guppies".

This is Elijah's first time to take any swim lessons and we couldn't be any prouder of him!

It's Never Too Early

Last week I took Elijah to the bank so he could make his first deposit into his savings account. He has been saving  money in his piggy bank for awhile now. His first deposit was $28.00. He was so excited and the ladies were SO awesome with him. Like the title of this post says, "It's never too early" to teach  them to save!

The lady on the right ,is his friend, who always hooks him up with several lollipops every time we go to the bank. She has seen him literally grow up over the years. :)
Very proud of himself and we were proud of him

Boys and Their Toys

Since Byron doesn't have a pick-up truck, bringing home things he needs from Lowes, Home Depot, and other home improvement places isn't easy. So for Christmas, one of my presents to him was a trailer. Now, the home and yard improvements can begin. :) Oh course, Elijah had to help his Daddy put it together.

Right now, we have someone cutting our yard, but Byron still prefers to cut it himself. So as a "happy we sold our house" gift, he bought a riding lawn mower. I'm not sure who was more excited about it, Byron or Elijah.

 The first start up

Byron also got a trailer to haul mulch, sand, and anything else he might need to in the backyard.  But honestly,I know the real reason he got it was so he could drive Elijah around and see that huge smile on Elijah's face.

Couldn't forget about Mommy, could we? I also got a "happy we sold our house" gift that I like every much too. :)

Raleigh Christmas 2011

Our next stop in Mississippi was to Raleigh to see my family. It was a nice visit and Elijah really enjoyed spending time with Hannah, my niece.

A little basketball time with Hannah and Uncle Mike

Elijah and Uncle Mike playing the drums together (Mike is doing the foot pedal)

Jamming! Thanks for the drums Uncle Mike :)

 Hayride time

 Nana and her grand kids

 Byron's turn on the hayride

Working on his golf swing with Pawpaw

Uncle Mitchell (my Dad's brother) getting ready to take the kids for a ride on the golf course. Uncle Mitchell was so sweet and gave Elijah a old set of his golf clubs that we can have cut down for him

Hazlehurst Christmas 2011

Yes, this post is late getting done, but better late than never right? :)

The day after Christmas we headed to Mississippi to see Byron's family. We had a nice visit and it was good to see everyone. Elijah had a lot of fun with everyone, but especially his Uncle Blake.

 Ready to open presents

Each year Byron always does something fun or silly with his niece's gifts. This year he gave them this board nicely wrapped and all. Oh course, we did have them something :)

Having some fun with Uncle Blake

Looking for rocks for his rock collection with Granddaddy (Byron's father)

And of course you have to throw them too!

Unfortunately,a lot of pictures that I took during our visit disappeared. Talk about VERY frustrating! Elijah also had fun getting to riding in the wagon while his Uncle Blake pulled him, taking a ride in the trailer while Granddaddy drove him around, watching some fireworks, and enjoying a bonfire. I just wish I had the pictures to post of those things, but it is still a mystery what happened to them.
