Special Delivery

Elijah also received a special delivery letter Santa Claus. In the package was a letter from Santa with Santa's special wax seal on it, a certificate saying Elijah was on the nice list, a sugar cookie recipe from Mrs. Clause, a picture of Santa, and reindeer dust. Guess this year Santa will be getting sugar cookies instead of chocolate chip ones. :) Got to enjoy these moments while you can!

Which List are You On?

Elijah recently received his special video message from Santa. When he watches this video Elijah finds out if he is on the nice list, the needs to work some list, or the naughty list. This year he was told...

...the nice list!

One happy and probably a little thankful boy

Thanksgiving 2014

We had a very relaxing and laid back Thanksgiving this year. The last couple of years we have hosted friends for Thanksgiving Day but this year it was just the three of us. And it was just as special because we got to spend it together as a family.

Elijah helping Byron make the cornbread, for the dressing, the night before.

Elijah even got to play with our neighbor, Mariya for a long time.
She is in kinder at SCE as well.

He wanted to show me how he could write some sentences using his word wall words.

 Playing solider like the nutcracker

The Thanksgiving feast prepared by Chef Byron
Everything he made was from scratch except for the pie and peas.
The man can cook!

I am have many things to be thankful for in my life, but these 2 guys are my biggest blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Six Year Old Pictures

Well, this year's annual birthday pictures were a little different from years past. First of all, Elijah wasn't feeling well the day of the pictures. He was dealing with bad allergies. Second, I dropped the ball and didn't get his hair cut before the pictures like I normally do. And then, I forgot to get his number 6 for the pictures. But even with those 3 factors, we were very happy to be able to get some good pictures of him.

Elijah's BIRTHday - Evening Time

That night, we let Elijah decide what he wanted for his birthday dinner. His response... fry night. So what that means is fried shrimp,  friend onion strings, fried pickles, fried corn tortillas, etc. All super yummy food but cooked in a bad way for you. Oh well, every now and then you have to be bad with your diet, right?

Elijah had a pinata for his party, but we wanted him to have one on his actual birthday as well. So, Byron thought it would be fun if Elijah opened it with a saw of his that Elijah had been wanting to use for a long time.

 One, two, three, POW!

Instead of having it filled with candy, we had put pencils, small crafts, and some other small gifts in there.

For his birthday treat, he had chocolate cupcakes filled with vanilla ice cream,

 Wish time

Happy 6th Birthday Elijah Boo! We love you SO much!!

Elijah BIRTHday - After School Fun

Since Elijah's birthday fell on a school day this year, Byron and I went and had lunch with Elijah. His request was a spicy Italian sub from Subway.

This was waiting for Elijah when he got home from school.

This was from his Nana and Pawpaw

Another gift from Nana and Pawpaw
This model is the kind of plane my Dad worked on while in the USAF.

This expression came after he saw the picture of what this was on the box

The box= chair for a desk

And this facial expression came after he new he had got a desk.
The box didn't have a picture on it, so Byron printed out a picture of the desk from their website. Smart move Daddy!

Yes, our now six year old son, had asked for a desk and a chair for his "office" for his birthday.

A few months ago, Elijah found my old laptop, and printer/scanner and took over them. He had a made shift desk he was using. Elijah will spend a lot of time in his "office" doing "work'. He doesn't Internet access, so he is just exploring, seeing what he can do on the computer, creating things, and printing a lot of things. He has even taught me a thing or two about the computer.

One of many things we love about Elijah is that he does his own thing even if it isn't the norm for most 6 year old boys. And doesn't care if others might think it is strange or that they aren't interested in what he is doing. He does what he enjoys and makes him happy! :) Love that since of independence!

Elijah's BIRTHday - Morning Fun

It is so hard for us to believe that on November 21st, 2014 our little miracle turned 6. Time is just going by so fast. But we are beyond thankful for every birthday he has and that we can celebrate with him!

This year we started the birthday elf
It is a cute story and had the book explains to him about his birthday chair

Here is Elijah's elf, Jingle Bells, in a birthday outfit for Elijah's special day.

 His birthday chair
In the pocket were cards from his grandparents and us.

We wanted him to have a small present to open before he had to go to school.
Curious George is the only cartoon show Elijah watches. All the other times he watches any TV it is always on HGTV.

He was very excited to see the money his Nana and Pawpaw gave him.
He also got some money from his Grandma and Granddaddy. He racked up!

Listening to his Nana sing happy birthday to him

 All ready for school...

and to be on the Gator News

Byron took Elijah to school because I needed to stay at home because we had painters coming. So Byron stayed at school and was able to watch Elijah live on the Gator News and get a video of it as well.
