It's a Southern Thing

Elijah likes cornbread, but when we introduced him to cornbread & milk (it's a Southern thing), he became a fan fast. This particular night, he decided he needed a snack as he was watching "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Amazing, how a show that Byron and I grew up watching, is the same show that our 4 year old liked and found funny. Think moments like that are so neat!

Visiting Santa

Tuesday night we took Elijah to visit Santa. We got there before Daddy so we enjoyed some of the activities they had set up. It was so nice because there was no line and we were able to walk right up to see Santa. Elijah's wish list had grown by 2 items that we learned when he was talking to Santa. :)

Elijah's Christmas Tree

This year Elijah wanted to decorate his Christmas tree (for his room) all by himself. So I let him. He had a lot of fun decorating it, but I had a hard time not wanting to jump in and help. :)

 Proud of his work

Thanksgiving 2012

Our good friends, Pam and Gil, had planned to fly in & have Thanksgiving with us this year. But, they had a family matter that came up and weren't able to. We did miss them, but we still had a great Thanksgiving. Byron cooked an amazing Thanksgiving meal. (Yes, we all ate too much). We were very proud of Elijah because he tried everything that we had. His favorite? Leseuer peas.

We really enjoyed having a relaxing Thanksgiving this year! And I am glad it worked out that way because Byron wasn't feeling well that day, but he never complained and was such a trooper!

Helping Daddy peel the sweet potatoes

 Peeling the eggs for Daddy

Getting ready to help make the dressing

Elijah had the best time being in the kitchen helping his Daddy make our Thanksgiving meal.
Byron was so wonderful about involving Elijah & Elijah was enjoying ever minute of it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Elijah's is Four!

On November 21, 2012, Elijah turned FOUR! He is growing up too fast for us. For his special day we asked him where he wanted to go. And his reply was the Children's Museum. And that is just what we did. We enjoyed about 3 and 1/2 hours of fun there Wednesday morning.

Happy 4th Birthday Elijah! Mommy and Daddy are beyond blessed that God chose us to be your parents. We love you to the moon, and back, and them some!

So after the museum we ate lunch and then headed home for him to open his presents from us and my parents.
 Thanks Nana and Papaw
(There were some other things included in his gift from them, but this was what got a big smile)

From us... don't you love how the box is upside down?

From us too

After presents. he went outside to play. He still really enjoys being outside, especially now that the weather is cooler. We concluded his special day by celebrating with a cookie cake. All in all, it was a very fun and laid back birthday. But most important was that Elijah said he had a great day and that is all that matters.
