Quick Trip to Mississippi

On May 22nd, we drove to MS so we could attend Mim's 94th birthday party. She and Byron's Aunt Barb had flown in from Oklahoma for this so we wanted Elijah to be able to see both of them.

So Friday night, we stayed with my parents. The we stayed till around 1:00 on Saturday so Elijah could have some time to fish.

Elijah started fishing as soon as we got there Friday evening.
Pawpaw had promised him that they would do some nighttime fishing.

Later that afternoon the fun continue for Elijah when Neil and him got to play in the water slide.

A Special Friend

Whenever Elijah goes to HEB, if Mr. Otis (chef/manager) is there cooking, Elijah always takes him a cookie. Even if there aren't any cookies available, Elijah will ask the ladies to get some so he can take one to Mr. Otis. Because of this, the two of them have created a very special friendship. Mr.Otis always tell us what a special kid we have.

On this particular day, Mr. Otis gave Elijah his cheeseburger hat. He said that Elijah would be the only kid that gets one of those hats. :)

Last Day as a Kindergartener

Where did time go?? We still can't believe that on June 4th, Elijah completed his first year of Kindergarten! Our baby is growing up too fast for us.

Look out first grade, here comes Elijah Polk!

SCE Field Day

June 1st, was SCE's Field Day. This was Elijah's first field day and he had a blast! He said it was the best day ever. :) I am thankful that the school administrators allowed me to go and watch him have fun.

A great day to end the school year

Kindergarten Program and Awards

Friday, May 29th, was a very big day for Elijah. He had his Kindergarten music program and awards ceremony! I was worried about it being a very emotional day for me, but I actually didn't cry... but of course, I teared up.

We were able to have a picnic lunch with our kindergators that day as well.

The program was SO cute and the kids did an amazing job!
All the songs were so sweet.

Elijah insisted on wearing a tie for this day.
The boy thinks wearing a tie is so cool.

Our baby is officially a first grader!

We are so proud of you Elijah!
