Elijah on TV!

It was a very exciting morning at the Polk house because Elijah was on TV!
He was featured on the School Bag segment on Fox26 Houston!

The Second Visit from the Tooth Fairy

Another special event that took place this week (October 20-24) was that Elijah lost his second tooth. We are so glad it finally came out because the permanent tooth was already half way in. 

The tooth fairy graded the quality of his tooth as "good"

Last time, the she graded it excellent. 

Guess someone needs to start brushing better :)

Star Gator of the Week

We were so excited to learn that Elijah had been chosen as his class first Star Gator of the Week. He picked out the pictures he wanted to take, chose his special items, and practiced what he wanted to say. 

His teacher, Ms. Timmons shared with me that she chose Elijah because she knew that he was a very confident boy and that his presentation would be an good example for the other kids in his class. Proud Mommy and Daddy moment that was!

Lunchtime Surprise!

On Friday, October 10th, Byron surprised Elijah with joining him for lunch. I think you can tell my the pictures that Elijah was one happy boy to be having lunch with his Daddy. 

It was homecoming weekend so RPHS drum line, cheerleaders, and football players came through the lunchroom :)

The Food Trucks Come To Sienna

Recently a couple of food trucks rolled into Sienna on a Friday night. It was a perfect night, weather wise, to be outside and enjoy some great food. 

We decided to eat at Bernie's Burger Bus because we had heard good things about it and I am glad we did. The hamburgers were so good and the truffle fries were my favorite. 

The night was a big success and we are have been told that they will be having this again soon and with more trucks.

Yesterday, Elijah and I made Pumpkin Bread for his teacher,  the assistant teacher, the two grade-level principals that will follow Elijah throughout his time at SCE, and the always happy crossing guard we see every morning.
