This and That = Random Pictures

Well, we have one week behind us, so we thought it would be fun to make a countdown. (Daddy is in Canada for 3 weeks)

VBS- Kingdom Rocks!

Last week we had Vacation Bible School at our church. This was the 3rd year for Elijah to attend and for me volunteer. This year I was the pre-school craft coordinator, as well as the teacher. Elijah started the week off sick but starting feeling better to really enjoy the last 3 days. Then Wednesday night I started to feel bad too. But we hung in there and finished the week & had fun. What a great experience to see our son learning about standing strong for Jesus!

Would love to know what they are talking about

What a blessing to see this many kids learning to "stand strong" for Jesus

Anniversary Get-a-Way: Day 2

The next morning we all slept in and it was so nice! We were at the river when it opened. We had planned on only staying a few hours and then leave to explore the historic downtown of Grapevine. But instead we stayed at the river for 6 hours because we were having so much fun (especially Elijah). Not a bad way at all to spend our anniversary "day".

We had a wonderful dinner that night at the resort.

 Our 2013 anniversary picture
Twenty three years and what a journey it has been!

Note: Most married couples wouldn't necessarily desire their child/children to go with them on their anniversary trips/get-a-ways. But we had 19 anniversaries with just the two of us. So, when we had Elijah it was our desire for him to be a part of the celebrations from then on. Or until he thinks it isn't cool to hang out with his parents. :)

Anniversary Get-a-Way: Day 1

A tradition that Byron and I started when we got married was to not celebrate our anniversary in a same city/town for the first 25 years. So, to keep this tradition going, we went to Gaylord Texan for our 23rd anniversary. Normally, our anniversary trip is a week, but since we had gone to Disney World in May, we decided to just get away for a few days.

This picture, as well as the ones below, is the view we had from our room.

We were lucky that our room was ready when we arrived, so we changed and went to the lazy river.

Elijah LOVED the lazy river! We spent 4 hours there the first day.

Ran into this cowboy when we returned to the resort

Heading out for dinner the first night.

 Elijah still likes flowers

It was a wonderful first day :)
