Yesterday Elijah had his two year check-up and it was good news all-around. He is doing great and we were so excited to hear that he has made progress with gaining some weight. Luckily, he only had to get one shot this time and he handled it like a trooper. We are so thankful that he is on track with his development and a healthy boy. We love you Elijah!
Having fun with Daddy's phone while waiting for the doctor
Sunday,November 21st, our sweet boy turned 2. We had a fun time celebrating with family. Happy Birthday Elijah! Mommy and Daddy love you SO much! Thank you for bringing such joy to our lives.
Good morning birthday boy!
The family of the doctor that delivered Elijah owns a cement company and he is still very involved in the business. So when Elijah was born we gave him a model cement mixer with Elijah's name on it as a thank you for being there for us on our very long journey. So we thought it was fitting to have a cake with a cement mixer on it. Plus Elijah likes them a lot!
Elijah decided to start early on his presents before cake or anything :)
Cake Time Elijah wanted to blow out his candles again. So we put them on his piece of cake for a second round of blowing out the candles.
Opening presents from the family
Birthday Lunch Queso = Elijah and Mommy's favorite :)
We decided to wait till after Elijah had taken his nap for him to open his presents. He had a lot of fun opening them but even more fun playing with them. He spent the rest of the day playing with his new toys and loving every minute of it.
On Saturday, we held Elijah’s birthday party at the Children’s Museum of Houston to celebrate him turning two! We still can’t believe our precious boy is 2! We had a construction theme since Elijah LOVES anything construction. It was a wonderful time and we felt so lucky to have good friends and family there to be a part of his celebration. We were especially blessed to have Elijah’s Grandma, Granddaddy, Elijah’s great grandmother (Mim), and his Aunt Barbara there to be a part of all the fun as well.

Today Elijah and I joined our friends, Mrs. Liz and Alyssa, for a breakfast play date. We meet them at the new McDonalds on highway 6- nice! Elijah is crazy about Alyssa,so he was so happy to see her. Both Alyssa and Elijah have birthdays this week, so of course, we had to celebrate that too.:) It was a fun morning!
To say Elijah does not like to eat fruits and vegetables is an understatement – I know, not good! In fact, the number of fruits and vegetables he does like and will eat can be counted on one hand. So today when he actually was willing to try cauliflower with cheese sauce for me, I was shocked! (Yes, there has to be cheese involved with almost everything when it comes to Elijah eating it) But even more thrilling was that he liked it and ate all of it. Guess there’s hope after all. Realistically, I know that if I give it to him again in a few days, he probably won’t eat it, but I’ll take today. Way to go little man!
He does know how to use a fork, but this is one of those times I didn't care that he wasn't using it :)
