Train Museum with Daddy
This past Friday morning, Byron and Elijah headed to the Rosenberg Train Museum. They had a lot of fun and Elijah even lasted two hours. Byron said that he could have stayed there all day if Daddy had let him. :) After their special morning together, I meet them for lunch.It was a great way to start off our weekend.
Elijah enjoyed all the train things, but loved this old fire truck the best. He talked about it the rest of the weekend.

Giving Thanks
Before eating lunch on Tuesday, Elijah's class said prayers of thanks. Ms. Lisa (one of Elijah's incredible teachers) took this picture of him and sent it to me. This picture brought tears to my eyes. How glorious is this?! Thank you again dear Lord for answering our prayers and blessing us with Elijah! And thank you Ms. Lisa for capturing this sweet moment for us. God is great!

My Daddy is the Best!
Byron doesn't get to spend as much time with Elijah during the week as his heart desires. :( So when the weekend arrives, he makes sure to spend as much time with him as he can. Byron also has every other Friday off (when he isn't traveling) and this allows for an extra time he can have with his favorite guy. I love this time together as "father and son" because it strengthens their relationship and creates great memories that will last a lifetime for both of them.
This weekend was an extra special one for my two guys. Friday evening Elijah helped his Daddy prepare our dinner. He still is enjoying helping both of us out in the kitchen. Then Saturday morning they headed out to make bird houses followed by a trip to Lowes (this is a every weekend trip) and then they went to enjoy some yummy bagels. The following day was church and after church we had lunch with friends. Later, after a not-so-great nap, they headed to the river here in Sienna. It's a nice walk to it, the weather was great, and Elijah was in heaven the whole time. There were rocks and sticks everywhere. Byron said he believes he found everyone of them and even some tape. He he! He was so worn out from river romp with his Dad, he slept 13 hours last night.
Elijah is so blessed to have such an amazing Dad who loves him SO much! I have always said to my family and friends, that one (of many) of the hardest things about waiting/trying so long to have a child was knowing, with all my heart, that God put Byron here on Earth to be a Dad...among many other reasons. I am grateful, beyond words, that God answered our prayers and we are parents now!!

MOPS Valentine's Party
This morning our MOPS group had a Valentine's party at Playscape. This was Elijah and my first time to experience Playscape at Sugar Creek Baptist. Apparently, it is normally very crowded but today that wasn't the case. Elijah had a lot of fun but we didn't stay the entire time because I had a special Valentine's lunch date with the second love of my life... Elijah. We had a wonderful lunch!

Imagination Movers
Saturday night we joined some friends of ours to take the boys to see the Imagination Movers. When we committed to going I wasn't 100% sure if Elijah was old enough for something like this or if he would enjoy it. I had told Byron that I bet he last 30 minutes but he lasted 40 instead. :) The show was an hour and a half long and I knew that was too long for him, especially at this age. But I am happy to say he did have a good time and the next morning he even said, "More Imagination Movers and Warehouse Mouse Mommy".
After the show we went out to eat. Elijah was in a great mood and kept us laughing the whole time. One of the funniest moments during dinner was when our server walked away to get us more chips, Elijah held up his salsa bowl in the air and said, "Bring more salsa please". He loves to eat Mexican food just like his parents!

Daddy's Trip to Japan
In the past, all of my post have been about family events, special moments, or about Elijah. But today I was thinking what a great way for me to capture some of Byron's international travels for his son. When Elijah is older, he will always have a personal account of his father's travels abroad.
Right now, Byron is in Yokohama, Japan for work. This is his second trip to this area but there have been many years in-between visits. We really miss him and will be glad when he is back home!! But I am very thankful that he has these opportunities to explore other parts of the world and will have these experiences for the rest of his life.

Over the weekend Byron and a co-worker went to Kamakura. Kamakura is often described in history books as a former de facto capital of Japan and as the seat of the Shogunate during the Kamakura Period. So there is a lot of history to the city.
