 It's official...We have a third grader!

Elijah,
We are so proud of everything you accomplished this year. You proved to us, and yourself, that you can do anything you put your mind to.
We love you to the moon & back, and then some!!

Pirates End of the Year Party

We hosted the Elijah's team party on Saturday, May 27th. The original plan was for the party to last from 2-4 but if came to an official end at 9:30. Every one was having a BLAST and no one wanted it to end.

The guest brought appetizers but Byron ended up making homemade mac and cheese for the boys and grilled them hotdogs as well. Then as the night went on, he cook pork chops, corn, and scalloped potatoes for the adults for dinner.

The coaches surprised the boys with metals. The boys loved them!!

There were 11 boys on the team, but only 6 could make the party. The coaches made sure the other boys still got their medals as well.

Elijah was SO proud of his award!

And no party is complete without a "dab"

What a Special Day!

On Wednesday, May 24th, was a very special day for Elijah. He was Mr. Parker, the music teacher, for the day and it was his awards day. Pretty sure that that particular morning was the easiest he has ever been to get up for school. :)

Elijah's Awards
 Good Bye 2nd grade

Elijah also received The Most Cooperative Award and the Kit Kat Award (willing to take a break to help out your teacher with something)

This year Elijah missed making the Honor Roll, for the year, because he had one nine weeks with all B's. Three out of four nine weeks on honor roll is a great to us! We couldn't be prouder of all that he has accomplished this year academically.

Final Game of 8U

So after returning from the tournament, the next night was the Pirates final game of the season. And just like that Elijah's 8U season was over. Next year he moves up to kid pitch. Not sure if I am ready for that.

Byron was at every game and he helped coach 1st base. I love watching these two!

We had such a great group of boys on this team. New friendships were made for sure and the boys had a lot of fun. And to Elijah, Byron, and myself, that is what it is all about!

Metro Tournament

Elijah's baseball team participated in the Metro Tournament this year. We played in Magnolia. Elijah's team didn't have a good season but it wasn't because they didn't play with their heart and give their best, because they did. So going into the tournament we honestly, didn't have much hope.

The first night of the tournament they played 2 games. The first one was at 6 pm and the other was at 8 pm, so it was a long night. By the time we got to the hotel it was 11:00. Sadly, we lost both games. But later that evening we found out that our stats were better than the other teams. So we weren't the worse team going into the 2nd day.

And low and behold, they won the first game of day 2! To say they were excited was an understatement!! Why? Because this was their first win of the season.

Loved seeing this smile on his face... finally.

We had some very happy boys, dads, and coaches!
We played again at 4:00 that afternoon but lost. So headed back home, but it was SO nice to see the team get a win and some great memories were made as well.

First Annual ASE Field Day

May 19th, ASE held their first Field Day and it was the BEST! All the kids and adults had a blast. Byron was able to hang out with Elijah all day and of course, Elijah loved that.

Our P wonderful PTA purchased shirts for all the students, teachers, aids, custodians, etc. Each grade level/group had their own colors. It was a fun day but there were 3 tired people in our house that evening.

This was 2nd grades shirts. But after the water games they had to change. :)
