Time to Carve the Pumpkin

This year Elijah designed how he wanted the pumpkin to look. He drew the face on the pumpkin and then he and Byron carved it. We all thought it turned out cute.

Sienna Family Camp Out

This year was our 2nd time to attend the Sienna Family Camp Out. There was a very big group of us that pitched our tents together. We enjoyed hanging out, eating, and laughing, The kids enjoyed the tent trick-or-treating and the movie.

The weather this year was a lot warmer than last year, thank goodness, because last year was cold! As the night went on, the rain started moving in faster than originally forested. So we decided to pack everything up after Elijah made/ate his smore and headed home. Elijah wasn't disappointed that we didn't stay because he was able to participate in everything and had a lot of fun while we were there. But Byron and I wanted to keep the fun going, so we set up our den like a campsite and camped out in there for the rest of the night.

I am glad we decided to come home because we able to get some decent sleep and we didn't have to deal with the thunderstorm that arrived around 6:00. Elijah does not like thunder and lighting at all, even when he is in the house, so Byron and I knew if he had been in the tent when the storm arrived, it wouldn't have been good.

Blessington Farm - Part 3

Elijah LOVED the huge sand pile! He would have stayed there all day if we had let him.

Blessington Farm - Part 2

Yes, there are a lot of pictures from this day, but it was too hard for me to decide which ones to post. I/we want Elijah to have many pictures to capture his childhood in the blog books.

Blessington Farm - Part 1

This year instead of going to Dewberry Farm, like usual, we headed to Blessington Farm instead. I had hear from a couple of people about it and after looking at there web page, we decided to give it a try. And I am so glad we did! All three of us liked it better than Dewberry. It was closer, cheaper, the staff was super friendly, there is enough to keep you busy, you can bring in your own food, and it isn't so commercialized. It was so much fun, the weather was gorgeous and it wasn't over crowded.

They opened last year but this is their first year to have the pumpkin patch part. We are thinking about going back for their strawberry picking. They do hydroponic growing of their strawberries so will be ready in mid November and it is a lot easy to pick.  They also grow blueberries and blackberries.
