Random Pictures from August

I don't like lose, especially to a 6 year old so...

revenge is sweet!

Went to work in my room one weekend and found this,
It's official! :)

Promotion Sunday for Elijah at church.

Reading his letter from the school to find out who his teacher is

Elijah left this on a computer in my room (aka TShack) the night of meet and greet.

Byron made these for me for my guided reading/writing table at school.
What a nice surprise! He knew that I was wanting some.

August 24th... Big Day!

Well, August 24th was a big day for Elijah and myself! Elijah started his first day of 1st grade and I returned back to teaching after a 6 year break.

I am thrilled to say Elijah and myself, not only had a great first day, but both of us had a great first week!

Looks like 1st is going to be a good year for Elijah. And, looks like my 20th year teaching is going to be as well.

Meet the Teacher

We are thrilled that Elijah got Mrs. Dupin as his first grade teacher this year!! I have heard nothing but wonderful things about her! I/we have no doubt that Elijah is going to have an amazing 1st grade experience.

Since all of  the "Meet the Teacher" were held at the same time, Mrs. Dupin was so kind and let me bring Elijah to the classroom early so I could be a part of it & still be there for my students.

Unfortunately, Byron was out of state and wasn't able to attend. But we knew he was there in spirit.

I can't believe my little guy is already a first grader. Time is going to fast for this Mommy!

August Phone Photos

Below are some random pictures from August:

Elijah loves helping Byron cut the grass. He told me the other day he couldn't wait till he was tall and old enough to cut the yard by himself.

Doesn't everyone roast marshmallows in the dead heat of the summer? And on the grill?
Apparently we do :)

Getting things like this reminds me how special a love is between a parent and their child...or AKA the bond between a boy and his mom!

A fun day for Elijah and me at Chuck E Cheese

Going to see Byron at work and going to lunch with him.

Yea! Elijah completed the summer reading program at our Sienna Branch Library.

Oh course after church and lunch out, you just chill at LOWE'S. Isn't that normal?

Elijah decide that he would start his own sprinkler repair business. So he made fliers to put on our neighbor's doors. He made the flyer all by himself on his computer.

He put this picture with his flyer because he wanted his potential customers that he wasn't talking fixing the sprinklers that connect to the water hose. Love that boy's creativity!

LEGO(s) ... For a Little While

We were so excited when Elijah starting showing interest in LEGO'S. But sadly, his interest in a "typical" boy toy(s) didn't last long at all. But I was able to get some pictures of some of his creations before the interest was gone. :)
