Rodeo Time - More Pics

Elijah decided he wanted to ride the Ferris wheel this year. This was his first time ever to ride one and he enjoyed it. It is becoming crystal clear that he isn't going to be scared to try all different types of rides as he gets older. All I know is that Byron will be joining him, not me :)

Last year Elijah did this slide and the larger/taller one too but the line for the larger one was ridiculously long. He did this slide over and over till he ran out of tickets.

After six hours at the rodeo we headed home. It was a fun day! But we were all very tired in the end but it was worth it.

Rodeo Time

Spring break week, we made our annual trip to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo. The weather was great and we all had a good time.

First up was the petting zoo. We arrived at 9:00 when Kid Country opened so that whole area wasn't too crowded.

Hey, let go of my shirt!

He worked so hard doing this crank and wouldn't let either on of us help him. In the end, he was successful

We meet the nicest family and they let Elijah get hands-on and help them get the animals ready and explained everything to him as well
. Elijah enjoyed ever second of it.

We so need one of these for our back porch or yard!

Lunch with Daddy

The Friday before Spring Break, we let Elijah pay hooky from school. We know this is the last year we will be able to allow him to do things like this. So Elijah and I went downtown to see Byron's new office and have lunch with him.

 Drawing a picture for Daddy
Elijah had drawn a picture on Byron's dry erase board in his old office and never erased it or let anyone else erase it. :) So Elijah wanted to give him another one.

For lunch we went to Lankfords Grocery. We had seen it recently on Triple D so we thought it would be a neat place to check out. The hamburgers were huge and very yummy! It is a small place and has a great atmosphere. Elijah really like their grilled cheese sandwich... lot of cheese! We are really glad we went! We are hoping to visit some more Dinners, Drive-Ins, and Dives spots on our vacation(s) this summer.

Opening Day for Baseball

March 1st was Opening Day for the SPYBL. The weather couldn't have been better and it was fun for all. Elijah didn't have a game that day so that was nice.

 Heading out to the ceremony

 NY Mets #10 Elijah Polk
Elijah had the same number last year too :)

They are the only t-ball team with 12 players; Everyone else has 11
