Game Ball

At the Tball game on Wednesday night, Elijah got the game ball! To say he was excited is an understatement. Last year his coach didn't hand out game balls, so this was all new to Elijah. And it also provided us an opportunity to teach him about patience and improving his playing skills.

Way to go Elijah! We are so proud of you!

The Newest HEB Shopper in our Family

Last week Elijah asked me if he could buy some groceries that he wanted to use to pretend or really cook with. I said yes, but told him that he needed to use his own money for these items. He had no problem with that at all so off we went to HEB.
Picking out just the right head of lettuce

He told me he felt like a big boy/adult picking out and paying for the food.

He even carried his own groceries out to the car.

Kite Flying

After our Easter lunch, Byron and Elijah went to the amphitheatre to fly his kite. It was a beautiful and there was just enough of wind. Both of my of my guys had fun.

Easter Lunch

This Easter we decided to have lunch at home instead of going out to eat. Elijah was in the kitchen working side by side with his Dad. Here he is prepping the green beans of us. We had a very nice lunch together. And during lunch we read the Easter scripture from the Bible and opened our last resurrection egg.

Easter on the Hill

We attended our church's service on the hill again this year. Byron went ahead of Elijah and I because he had to help put out the eggs before the kids arrived, then he also had volunteer to usher after that. The morning started off very over-cast but right at the moment when the service was starting, the sun broke through and it was a beautiful day. What a glorious way to celebrate our RISEN Savor!

 Elijah and his friend, Brayden,
They had been picking flowers for Mrs. Shannon and myself

Looking to see if they can see an alligator even though we told them to stay away from the water...boys!

Love that they are both laughing and running

They look so guilty

Now Where Could that Egg Be?

We have always done Elijah's egg hunt after church. But this year he really wanted to hunt for his eggs before church and better yet, before he was even dressed. For some reason, he was super excited about hunting for the eggs this year. So the Easter Bunny had to work very fast to get the eggs hidden in time.

What Did the Easter Bunny Bring?

As soon as Elijah woke up Easter morning, he went straight to find his basket and see what the Easter Bunny had brought him.

Since Elijah is older this year, we got him a new larger basket. He likes this one a lot more because it holds more stuff. Smart kid :)

Containers to hold some of his spices when he pretend cooks or truly cooks.
Pretend cooking = using real food and kitchen items but just making whatever he wants to; in other words, he just lets his imagination go.

Elijah really has fun doing rocket balloons with his Dad.

Looks like the Easter Bunny even knew that Elijah likes his mac & cheese

 A new puzzle

And for the bath time, crayons for the tub

A Very Special Easter Card

Elijah made this Easter card for us as school. Think some of the lamb's wool must have blown off :)

It melts our heart when Elijah writes "I Love You" now on our cards.
He even drew us some pretty flowers.

Dying Easter Eggs

After the egg drop, we went home so Elijah could dye his Easter eggs. Just like last year, he wanted to do it all by himself.

Typically we just use white eggs but this year we tried brown too. They didn't go as well, but they still turned out OK.
