Dying Easter Eggs

Today Elijah dyed his Easter eggs. He enjoyed this more this year and thankfully they turned out better than last years.

Elijah's Easter Eggs

We have been doing the Resurrection Eggs each night as a family this year & it has been such special time for all three of us!

Friday's Project

Since we moved into this house, Byron has wanted to create a flower bed by our bedroom windows. Well, this Friday that is exactly what he and Elijah did. My two guys worked very hard and it turned out great. Elijah helped his Daddy with every aspect of it.

Byron knows that  roses are my favorite, so planted 3 rose bushes for me.

Byron created a small area in the flower bed for Elijah to have his very own space.
Looks like my two guys were put in the corner :-)

 Job well done!

This picture was taken today (Saturday) All the flowers in "Elijah's special place" (that is what he wanted to call it) were picked out by him & were planted completely by him. Here he is showing off his solar powered lights that Byron got him today as a happy. And of course they went straight into his garden. :)

First TBall Game...Ever

Thursday, March 21st, Elijah had his very first TBall game. It was so fun to watch all the boys play and just truly enjoying themselves. It was a great night, even though the weather was miserable. Elijah got hits the first time when he batted and toward the very end of the game he actually stopped a ball. But now we just have to get him to throw the ball when he does stop it. :) I am so thankful that Byron is able to be help out with the games because it is such a wonderful way for Elijah and him to create wonderful memories together.

Looking like such a big boy!

They don't keep score in Tball, but if they had, the Yankees would have won

Strawberry Picking

After Elijah's swimming lesson on Tuesday, we went to Froberg Farm to pick strawberries. It was crazy busy... we sat in traffic for over 30 minutes before we could even park. I found out the next day they had to close the farm because there weren't many more ripe strawberries left to pick. Now that is busy!

However the wait was worth it because the weather was perfect, the strawberries were good and Elijah had fun. The funny thing about Elijah wanting to go each year to pick is that he doesn't like strawberries.

After picking we went to the market area and Elijah enjoyed checking out all the goodies they had. And yes, even smelling them.

Soup Making

About a week or so ago, Elijah decided he wanted to make some soup. And that he wanted to pick out all the ingredients for it as well. We were a little leery but we let him go for it. Byron helped him prep the food but Elijah did everything else. He let it cook for several hours. And the end result? It was very good! Byron and I couldn't believe it. Looks like I am going to have 2 great cooks on my hands. Yea!

Here is what was in the soup:
  • Cabbage (from our garden)
  • Collards (from our garden)
  • Onions
  • Black eyed Peas
  • Garlic
  • Corn
  • Radishes (from our garden)
  • Cilantro (from our garden)
  • Rosemary (from our garden)
  • Bow tie Pasta

Conclusion: Houston Livestock and Rodeo

The fun continues...

Now my turn on the slide with Elijah

Think the nachos must have been good based upon the cheese and sour cream on his face :)

 And yet another ride

Daddy's turn again
