Today Elijah had his first Easter photos taken. He did well at the photo session and here are some of our favorites. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. :)

This is the face that melts our hearts every day!

Sping Fling Fun

On Sunday, we took Elijah to Sienna’s Spring Fling. He had fun seeing the Easter Bunny again. He really enjoyed playing in the moon walk for toddlers. Mommy and Daddy like the moon walk too because if he fell we didn’t have to worry about him getting hurt. At the location where this event took place, there is a large amphitheater. Elijah had the best time walking up and down the hill. We were thrilled to see how well he walked up the hill all by himself. However, coming down he did need some extra support. He started picking up way too much speed. :) Thanks Daddy! It was a nice way to end our weekend.

Meeting the Easter Bunny again...yes, Elijah still LOVES to point all the time!

Hey Mom and Dad, do you think I should go up?

Wonder what is on the other side of this?

Hi Mr. Elephant!

Up, up, up I go ...

... down, down, down we go.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

This morning Byron and I took Elijah to see the Easter Bunny for the first time. We were hoping he would do well, but we still were holding our breath. To our surprise, he did GREAT! As soon as he sat in the bunny’s lap he started blowing him kisses. Then he decided it would be fun to play with the bunny’s bow tie and hands. He tried his best to reach his nose too, but his arms aren't quite long enough yet. :) The picture I took/posted is a little blurry but you can still see his sweet smile. It was another great family moment we will treasure.

Sunny Side Up

Elijah loves to watch the Sunny Side Up Show each morning. It is a cute show for pre-school age kids. His favorites to watch are Thomas the Train, Barney, and Sesame Street -I am so glad he likes Sesame Street!. He doesn’t actually sit down and watch them, but certain parts of these shows will get his attention. So, yesterday I printed out some coloring sheets from the shows he likes. He had a lot of fun coloring again and this time he didn’t eat any crayons. :)

Sweet Sixteen

No, I am not talking about basketball or turning 16 :) What I am talking about is our sweet angel turning sixteen months old today. I know I say this ever time, but we can’t believe how fast he is growing up.

Here are a few new highlights from the past month:

-Colored for the first time
-Ate seafood (fried shrimp & baked fish) for the first time and liked it! This was thrilling for us since he is such a picky eater.
-Has added “night night”, “Binky”, and “off” to his vocabulary
-Loves playing with his Matchbox cars and trucks (Thanks Papaw)
-Went to his first rodeo and got his first cowboy hat
-Ate ice cream for the first time & liked it
- Now enjoys getting his Buddy Bucks from HEB and retrieving his points using the crane, of course with Daddy's help
-Now wearing a size 5 shoe
-Loves dipping his food in Ranch dressing
-Has decided he likes his bean bag now and wants to sit in it often
-Has become a fan of Thomas the Train
-Moved up to Level 4 at Gymboree
-Improving a lot in following directions (This is thrilling to us!)

Most importantly though, Elijah continues to steal our hearts and bless our life in so many ways. We love you!

Heading to church this morning with my two special guys. Elijah was being super silly for Mommy.

Hey look Mom, three of my favorite things - my Thomas the Train book (Thanks Nana), Thomas the train show, and my bean bag.

This picture doesn't have anything to do with this post. But I thought it was too cute not to share.

More proof that Elijah LOVES guacamole! It looks like he should be saying, "Bottoms Up"

Tuesday's Rainy Day Entertainment

This is Elijah's first attempt at coloring. It didn't last too long since he decided it would be fun to try and eat the crayons. I was watching him closely, but one thing I have learned lately is that kids are fast!

Elijah does not like to eat anything that is sweet, even fruit :(
But on Tuesday, he tried some of Mommy's chocolate ice cream...

and liked it.

He also enjoys helping me clean. He loves playing with the Swiffer and brooms. We can't figure that one out yet. Check out his shirt- yep, ice cream. :)

Now, on to the kitchen for more sweeping fun.

I am so blessed that I can stay at home with Elijah and experience these special moments with him. My heartfelt thanks to his Daddy for this!!

Fun with Friends

Today we had a blast going to the Children’s Museum with Brayden and Mrs. Shannon. We had the whole toddler area just to ourselves for almost 30 minutes. Nice! The boys had so much fun and Mrs. Shannon and I enjoyed getting to talk. We are so thankful to call them our friends and can’t wait till our next outing together. Should be great fun!

Brayden, these cars are so cool!

Decisions, decisions :)

Hey Brayden, what should we get into now?

Rodeo Time

Yesterday we took Elijah to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. When we first arrived we went and looked at the livestock. He really liked the cows, especially the baby calves. Then we headed to the Kid’s Adventure area. This is such a nice set up for kids. Elijah had a blast! His favorite, hands down, was the petting zoo. They had pigs, sheep, goats, lambs, baby lambs, and lamas just to mention a few. Elijah might be little in size, but that did not deter him when it came to petting the animals. He even gave some of the them a hug. Too sweet! He also had fun playing on the tractors. The tractors were green just like in his book and that thrilled him. Elijah loves anything with wheels on it. So when he saw the huge wheels, he got the biggest smile on his face. Before lunch, we decided that Elijah needed his first cowboy hat He loved wearing it which really surprised both us. We brought our rodeo adventure to a close by checking out the many vendors booths. All in all, it was a great family outing.

Just had to share this- when we were approaching the entrance of the fair, the enormous Ferris wheel came into view, but Elijah didn’t react at all. But when he saw the large construction crane sitting nearby, he got so excited. I just had to laugh and think “Daddy’s boy”. :)

Checking out the livestock

The smile says it all - he LOVED the petting zoo!

Now this is what I call a wheel! :)

Maybe in a few years my feet will be able to touch the pedals.

Howdy partner!
