Meet the Teacher

Wednesday was Meet the Teacher at Elijah’s preschool. This was the first time for him to see his room and meet his teachers. When we first got there, Elijah did get upset but once he started to play with the toys he was fine. There are 8 kids in his class and the majority is boys. :) His teachers are Mrs. Joyce and Ms. Lisa. I have heard nothing but great things about them, so we are thrilled that they will be his teachers this year. Just in the short time we were there, it was very obvious that they both truly LOVE kids, their job, and they are going to make this a wonderful year for Elijah. I know that this transition isn’t going to be easy for him at first, but we feel blessed to have him in such a loving, caring, Christian environment. Byron was able to go with us and Elijah loved having his Daddy there too. Afterwards, we went and had lunch together before Byron had to return to work. I can’t wait till Tuesday to see how our little guy does ….. and me! :)

I dropped the ball where pictures are concerned because I had the camera on the wrong setting when I gave it to Byron so they didn’t turn out that well. And I forgot to take a picture of his teachers. :(

The Good and The Bad

Good: Elijah turns 21 months old today. What a blessing he is from God! :)
Bad: He is into EVERYTHING!

Good: Two weeks ago he gave up his binky at nap time and bedtime. He didn't cry at all.
Bad: Now, he takes forever to go to sleep at nap time because he is talking and his naps are shorter too. Thank goodness bedtime is still is smooth sailing.

Good: Two 2 year molars are just about through.
Bad: Still have 2 more to go.

Good: Elijah starts pres-school at the end of the month.
Bad: I will miss him! We are praying he will do OK and that he will enjoy going to school.

Good: After a very long break from attending church (I know, shame on us) we returned this past Sunday and Elijah did great. They didn’t have to page us and we are proud to say we have never been paged.
Bad: Two days later he had a runny nose and wasn’t feeling well. I guess we better start preparing for this to happen more often once he starts school.

No matter if bad sometimes comes along with the good, we wouldn't change at thing. We love you so much Elijah!

Fun Times in August

Brayden, our sweet friend, turned 2 this month. This is the two boys at his birthday party. Shannon, Brayden's mom, did such an amazing job for his birthday!!


Elijah thought it would be fun to play in Daddy's suitcase before he got it unpacked. He loves playing with the TV remote.

Sunday night Elijah helped Byron make hamburgers for dinner. Elijah actually picked out ingredients he wanted to put in them. Let's just say there was some strange things added but... they turned out very good! Who would of thought? :)

A Special Photo Session

While my mom and niece where here visiting, my mom wanted to have some pictures taken with both of her grand children. It is rare for both kids to be together like this, so we wanted to take full advantage of this opportunity. I am thankful that I have these pictures to capture this special time. This was a fun week and Elijah loved spending time with Hannah and Nana!

Hannah (my niece who lives in TN)) and my mom flew to Texas on Monday to visit Elijah for the week. So Tuesday morning we headed to the Children’s Museum. When we arrived, we discovered that the section for toddlers, as well as the section that I thought Hannah would really like, was closed due to air conditioner problems. Luckily, the rest of the museum was still opened and very cool. So we made the best of the situation, and in the end, a fun time was had by all!

What a Fun Morning!

Now that Elijah is a toddler, one of the fun things we enjoy doing is having play dates with our friends. We always enjoy getting together with Mrs. Shannon and Brayden, as well as Mrs. Liz, Audrey, and Alyssa.
Well, yesterday, Elijah and I had our first play date with my friend Nicole (Nicole and I used to teach together) and her precious daughters Avery and Madi. Elijah had a BLAST and LOVED being around her girls! It was a wonderful morning. Thank you so much Nicole for everything and we are excited about getting together again very soon!

The kids had a good time making their own pizzas for lunch. Notice the piece missing from Elijah's? He didn't want to wait till it was cooked. :) I helped with the sauce but he did the cheese and pepperoni all by himself.

What a fun morning!

What a Difference a Month Makes

It's hard to believe but our sweet Elijah turns 20 months old today. And all Byron and I can say is what a huge difference a month can make! It has been amazing to watch the incredible, exciting, and ah struck changes that have occurred with our precious boy over the last month.

A few that we would like to share with you are:
•When we ask him who loves him he now adds “God” to his list – love it! Then when we ask him where God is he says “everywhere” while holding his arms opened wide. Also when we ask him who made him he says “God” – love that even more!
•He can now say his name and it is just the cutest thing to hear
•His vocabulary has taken off leaps and bounds!
•When giving us our squeeze hugs, he throws in a butterfly kiss :)

How blessd we are to have such amazing son. We love you Elijah!
