Easter Sunday - Part 2

After church our friends came over to visit for awhile. Mrs. Whitney's daughter, Madeline, brought Elijah an Easter gift. Too sweet! After their visit, the three of us headed out for lunch. Then after nap, Elijah started his search to find his eggs that the Easter Bunny had hidden from him. It was so fun to watch him really looking for them and he found all of them without our help. It was a great way to end Easter 2011.
OK, the Easter Bunny had to make one easy for him, right? :)







After finding all his eggs, we headed inside for Elijah to open up all the eggs he had collected from the egg hunt at church. He was loving that!

Easter Sunday - Part 1

Elijah's new Easter Basket - I tried to get this basket for him last year but wanted to long to order it. So, I made sure that didn't happen this year.

His Easter outfit - This year we attended Easter services outside so when I found this outfit with shorts, I had to get it and I am glad I did.
Very seldom do we get a family picture but I am so glad we got this one. I love it!

Elijah's special treat each week is to have a doughnut at church. We really try to limit how much sugar he has, so he looks forward to this treat each week.

We were also excited that our dear friend Kit, her daughter, son-in-law, grand daughter, and soon-to-be grandson were able to join us for the service as well.
We had a GREAT Easter! He is risen, he is risen indeed!!

Easter Weekend 2011 - Saturday

Byron and Elijah went to the HEB Easter egg hunt Saturday morning. It started at 8:00 and they got there about 8:20. Well, the eggs had already been wiped out and Byron said it was just crazy! There were, however, some very sweet parents and kids that gave Elijah some of their eggs for his basket. It is fair to say that this event will be something we will have to think about whether to attend or not next year. :)
Such a serious face but Byron said even with all the craziness he still had fun.


Saturday afternoon, we dyed eggs for the Easter bunny. We both were amazed how much difference a year made with Elijah and this activity.

A Good Friday on Good Friday

Whenever Byron has his Friday off, we try to make it a family day. Our original plans for this past Friday were to go to Kemah Boardwalk but because the amusement rides didn't open till 12, we came up with plan B. Plan B was the Cockrell Butterfly Museum, riding the train, and then the zoo. I am glad that Plan B happened because the day was better than we could have hoped for! We got a great parking place (which in that area is a major accomplishment), the weather was incredible, and we were VERY lucky that we beat the crowds with everything we did, considering there was no school and a lot of people were off. :) It was a GOOD Friday!

A Little Easter Fun at School

On Thursday, April 21st, Elijah's class had an Easter egg hunt and a special lunch. It was a fun day and Elijah enjoyed every minute of it.
Yes, at the beginning, he wanted to stop and open up every egg he found. Hehe! I thought if was great that his teachers made sure that every child had the same number of eggs at the end of the hunt to keep it fair, especially as this age. :)



This is an art project that they had made for us. Footprints in the Sand story surrounded by Elijah's sweet footprints. Yes, it brought tears to my eyes! The brown glitter at the bottom is suppose to represent the sand. This is definitely a keeper!


After he got home, he had a blast opening his eggs and seeing what was inside of them.
The bigger things you see in his basket, that obviously wouldn't fit in an egg, were happies from his teachers.
