Party and Trick-or-Treating

Halloween night was a fun-filled evening. We had a wonderful time at the neighborhood party and taking Elijah trick-or-treating.

Just a few of the many people that attended our annual Halloween neighborhood party. We had a great turn out this year and the party so much fun! Thanks Dawn and Kennedy for all of your hard work.

I was SO proud of Elijah, he waited so patiently in line for his turn at the pinata and he had so much fun trying to bust it open.

Elijah really enjoyed Halloween this year. He said "trick-or-treat" on his own at each house we went to and loved getting so much candy.

All in all it was a great evening and the only thing that could have made it any better is if Daddy was there to enjoy it with us!

Community Fun

Saturday we went to the Harvest Fest hosted by Harvest United Methodist. Elijah had a lot of fun but hands down what he enjoyed most was running up and down the hill and eating his snow cone. It was a very nice event for our community!

Children's Museum

On Friday our friends, Mrs. Alli and Henry, met us at the Children's Museum. The boys had a fun time playing throughout the museum and getting to trick-or-treating was an added bonus. It was a wonderful morning!

Halloween Fun at School

What a fun time Elijah had at school today. The kids were able to wear their Halloween costumes and Elijah was so excited about this. All the kids looked SO cute! They started off the day with free play, songs, and fun games. Then they went trick-or-treating around the school and Elijah, as well as all of his classmates, racked up! One thing that I really liked that they did, for his age group, was they had their Halloween party during their lunch time. So, instead of their party consisting of more traditional party foods, all the moms signed up to bring in healthier foods for a special lunch for them. Oh course; there was a least one sugar treat for their party. :) Needless to say, after such a fun and busy morning, there was some serious napping going on after lunch.
We are so happy and thankful that Elijah is part of Christ Church School. What a loving environment for our son to be a part of.

A Sneak Peek

I wanted Byron to see Elijah in his Halloween costume before he left. Luckily I was able to snap this quick picture of him before he was off and running.

We asked Elijah on several occasions if wanted to be a fireman (he likes fire trucks), a pilot (he likes airplanes too), or a construction worker/handyman (he LOVES anything construction related) and he consistently said pilot. I love this costume too because my dad served in the Air Force for twenty years. So it has a little extra specialness to it. In fact, when my dad (Papaw) saw this picture he said “That's my fly boy” Got to love it!

Jack-O-Lantern Carving with Daddy

Since Byron can’t be here for Halloween this year :( He came up with this wonderful ideal! He thought it would fun for Elijah and him to carve a jack-o-lantern before he left on Thursday for another long work trip. That way Elijah’s first carving of a pumpkin was done with his dad :) and each night until Halloween we can light the jack-o-lantern and remember all the fun he and his Dad had carving it. I can’t help but smile when I see Elijah getting so excited when it’s time to light it. Sometimes the littlest of things make the biggest impact. How blessed Elijah is to have such a sweet and thoughtful Dad!!

This picture has nothing to do with this post but... This is what Elijah did at school on Thursday. He was so proud of it and showed me how he put his hand prints on there. One of those pricelss moments :)

Pumpkin Patch

On Monday, my friend Liz and her precious daughter, Alyssa, came over for a play date. Elijah had the best time playing with Alyssa. He thought it was so cool that she liked playing with all of his trucks. Then we headed to a local pumpkin patch where the fun continued even though it was hot! What a great morning!
