Five in a Row

Friday night Elijah and Byron Wii bowled and ....

Elijah got 5 strikes in a row!! (all on his own)
And beat his Dad for the first time
Elijah was over the moon & Byron, on the other hand, was shocked but very  proud of Elijah :)

Pajama Day

Wednesday, February 6th, was pajama day at Elijah's school. It was a good day for pajamas because it was raining, cold, and it was also Chick-fil-A day. At school, he put on his Lighting McQueen house shoes to complete this ensemble.

The Real Stuff

Last Sunday we went to get Elijah a "real" bat, balls, a glove, and a t-ball stand. It was so sweet because Elijah came inside the house and said, "Daddy, will you play catch with me?". Talk about a priceless moment for Byron!

Four Years & 3 Months Interview

Well, as you can tell by this post's title, I dropped the ball about doing a interview with Elijah when he turned four. But like they say, "Better late, than never".

I did this interview today (2/9) and wasn't sure how it was going to go because our little guy is sick today. But he hung in there with me. :)
  • What is your favorite TV show?  Imagination Movers
  • What is your favorite food? Cheese
  • What do you like most about school? My teachers and center time
  • Who is your best friend?  Connor and Kendall (both are his classmates and Kendall is his first real crush)
  • What is your favorite color? gold (think this color was said because he can earn gold stars on his behavior chart)
  • What is your favorite thing to do with your Dad? Work with him on projects and stuff
  • What is your favorite hobby/thing to do? Anything with lights (yes, this would be his new his obsession...strange we know)
  • What is your favorite store? Lowe's
  • What is your favorite book? My Lucky Day
  • Do you know your address? Yes
  • What is it? 3307 Five Oaks Drive (guess he was paying attention to me)
  • Do you know what state you live in? Yes
  • What is it? Texas
Some other facts about Elijah:
  • Continues to be a VERY picky eater and still doesn't think eating is all that important :(
  • Is going to school 3 days a week this year instead of 2
  • Has started back to swim at Houston Swim Club in Pearland
  • Still talks non-stop
  • Is a night owl; even when we get him to bed at a decent time it takes him forever to go to sleep. There is good and bad with this. If it is a school day I have to wake him up to get him ready for school (bad), & if is isn't a school day, then he sleeps really late and I get too as well (good)
  • Will be playing his first sport this Spring, T-ball
  • We love how his mind works and are often surprised (in a good way) about some of the things he says and knows about
  • Has become very strong willed and opinionated since he turned 4
  • Likes going to church and like listening to contemporary Christian music like me in the car

Two Fun Days with Daddy

This past weekend, I went on a Woman's Retreat with our church. (Which was a wonderful) I left around 1:30 Friday and didn't return home till 6:30 Saturday night. Needless to say, Elijah was in heaven having one-on-one time with his daddy. They had a GREAT time and created some wonderful memories for both of them!

A few things they did:

Built a fire

Practiced t-ball

Went bowling

Elijah got a strike and some spars too
(guess Wii bowling with Mommy is paying off)

and they also...
  • went to Lowe's
  • planted plants in our front yard
  • installed under-the-counter lights in the kitchen for me (a surprise)
  • did all the laundry (another surprise)
I am sure there were other things they did, but I wasn't told about them.
He he!

Dad's Night

Last Monday might, Christ Church School held it's annual Dad's Night. Byron and Elijah decided to make a night of it, and eat dinner out before the fun at school began. What great memories for father and son!

Below are a few pictures that Byron was able to snap for me with his phone.

Snow Fest

Last Saturday, we went to Snow Feast in Sienna. We went last year and Elijah enjoyed it but this year he really had a lot of fun. We arrived early so Elijah had the snow to himself for awhile before it got crowed.

On the way home, we stopped at the park so we could continue to enjoy the beautiful day.
