Jack-O-Lantern Carving with Daddy

Since Byron can’t be here for Halloween this year :( He came up with this wonderful ideal! He thought it would fun for Elijah and him to carve a jack-o-lantern before he left on Thursday for another long work trip. That way Elijah’s first carving of a pumpkin was done with his dad :) and each night until Halloween we can light the jack-o-lantern and remember all the fun he and his Dad had carving it. I can’t help but smile when I see Elijah getting so excited when it’s time to light it. Sometimes the littlest of things make the biggest impact. How blessed Elijah is to have such a sweet and thoughtful Dad!!

Deciding on the way they want it to look

I think he was just a little bit excited...

... can't you tell?!

Hey, what's in there?

Oh course you must check out what you scooped out

Being silly :)

New style of hat - I LOVE this pic!

The final product - my two special guys did a nice job!

This picture has nothing to do with this post but... This is what Elijah did at school on Thursday. He was so proud of it and showed me how he put his hand prints on there. One of those pricelss moments :)

Pumpkin Patch

On Monday, my friend Liz and her precious daughter, Alyssa, came over for a play date. Elijah had the best time playing with Alyssa. He thought it was so cool that she liked playing with all of his trucks. Then we headed to a local pumpkin patch where the fun continued even though it was hot! What a great morning!

I love this picture! Elijah is blowing Alyssa a kiss.

This is one SWEET girl!

Tool Guy & 'LIL" Tool Guy

I gave Byron and Elijah these shirts as a surprise this weekend and they had the best time wearing them on Sunday. They even had similar matching pants. Too cute!

I love you Byron and Elijah!!

Painting

Elijah has a pet goldfish named Bubbles. So when I came across this fish and paint set in the dollar section at Target (I love that section!), I had to get it for him. He really seemed to enjoy painting it and when I asked him where did he want to put it, he said "Room-Bubbles". So now it sits in Elijah's room in front of Bubble's aquarium in to keep Bubbles company. :)

Side note: I know Elijah looks so serious/sad in this pictures, but he was just getting over a nasty stomach bug. :(

Dewberry Farm with the Boyer's

Today we went to Dewberry Farm for the first time with our friends, the Boyer's. We had a wonderful time! I think the pictures will show that. We are already planning our return trip in December so Elijah can pick out and help his Dad cut down is own "little" Christmas tree.

Elijah's reaction when the water started moving the ducks down the shoot for the duck races - too funny :)

Two faces you can't help but love :)

Our sweet friends - Danny, Shannon, and Brayden

My guys - how I love them!!

Fun at the Zoo

Today we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and headed to the zoo. We had a wonderful time and ended our outing with some good Mexican food. Love days like this!

The baby elephant recently born at the zoo :)

Showing us how old he is going to be in two months

Elijah loved looking at the fishes. He kept saying "Bubbles"...that is his fish.

The pictures below have nothing to do with this post, but thought they were too cute not to post.

Enjoying playing with Brayden's lawn mower at our play date. Bet he won't like it so much when he is having to use a real one. :)

Haircut-check, lollipop-check,truck-check = one happy boy

When I arrived Thursday to pick up Elijah from school, this is how I found him. Priceless!

Remember to Stop and Give Thanks

In the last couple of weeks, two friends of mine have lost their child/children. One friend never got the chance to hold her son or daughter and my other friend had a very short time to hold her two sons in her arms before they took their last breath. :( Right now they are going through a very devastating time and will be for the next couple of days, weeks, and months. So I lift up my prayers to them, as well as the angel(s) God blessed them with. I hope that they will find some peace and comfort in knowing that one day they will see their child/children again.

These are the moments that I know I/we need to stop and say "Thank you God!" Thank you for our miracle, thank you for after 16 years of heartache/infertility blessing us with a child, and thank you for choosing us as Elijah's parents.

Enjoying a picnic with our special guy!
